Hate Crime Hate crime is when someone deliberately victimises you because of your age, colour, race, gender, religion, sexual identity, social class or disability. A hate crime can cause harm to you and your family, friends and the local community: it is not acceptable.
Such crimes often go unreported, particularly if people have concerns that it will happen again. If you do choose to report the crime, sometimes people can find dealing with the Criminal Justice agencies confusing and upsetting, especially if the case goes to court. Victim Support understands all these concerns. We know that people who experience hate crime may have particular needs and concerns, especially if they suffer it repeatedly. We can help.
